"Lethal Injection" is a song included on the seventh album Omen, released in 2010. This song features melodic hooks, making guitars producing industrial thrash riffs sound like keyboards. It has staccato riffs and bluesy rhythms. It has no choruses, only verses and bridges between it. The main riff sounds very similar to the chorus riff from “Still of the Night“ by Whitesnake. Hence the title, this song is about lethal injection of a deadly poison.
Prong vocalist Tommy Victor helped write and share vocals with Max Cavalera, who said "Tommy was on tour with me. I met Tommy in 1994 when I opened for Pantera. Sepultura and Prong both opened for Pantera. I met Tommy again last year when Prong opened for Soulfly and I invited to come sing on the new album and he was very happy to. I told him 'I wrote a song especially for you, it has kind of a Prong vibe to it I hope you like it' and he did, and we came up with the words for 'Lethal Injection' and it was cool."
Lyrics[]
Die, your fate is sealed by lethal injection
Tried by a jury of false perception
Lied to, they bribe you
Submit to the wrong correction
Your final dose is a lethal injection
Your time has come, it's time to die
Your soul is heavy, your heart is dry
Inner fear takes control
Say goodbye to this world
Die, your fate is sealed by lethal injection
Tried by a jury of false perception
Lied to, they bribe you
Submit to the wrong correction
Your final dose is a lethal injection
Judgment falls from the sky
Lethal injection, you die tonight
The bleeding starts, your life passes by
Darkness falls, the end of life
Die, your fate is sealed by lethal injection
Tried by a jury of false perception
Lied to, they bribe you
Submit to the wrong correction
Your final dose is a lethal injection
